The TSS 482 visa involves a three-step process:

• Step 1: a sponsorship application by the employer. The employer needs to be a lawfully operating business, meet local labour and employment practices, be viable to sponsor the applicant.
• Step 2: a nomination application for a skilled position by the employer.
Employer needs to prove that the position is genuine, how the position became vacant or it is newly created position.
• Step 3: a visa application by the nominated employee.

There are three streams available under the TSS 482 work visa:

Short-term stream – to source genuine temporary overseas skilled workers in occupations included on the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) for a maximum of two years. Medium-term stream – this is for employers to source highly skilled overseas workers to fill shortage of skill in the business. The skills should be included on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). This visa can be grant for up to four years, with eligibility to apply for permanent residence after three years. Labour Agreement stream – this is for employers to source overseas skilled workers in accordance with a labour agreement with the Commonwealth Government.

After Visa Granted

When you granted this visa, you can travel to and from Australia for the duration of the visa and will be entitled to work in Australia only for an approved sponsor who has nominated you in your chosen occupation. While holding this visa, family members can travel to and from Australia for the duration of the visa and can work or study in Australia without restriction. During this visa period, you can only work in the occupation for which your visa was approved. To work in a different occupation you must apply for and be granted a new TSS visa. It is also to note that, you can only work for the employer who nominated and sponsored you in the nomination.

TSS Training Requirements:
