Student Visa overview

Australia is renowned for its world-class education system, diverse culture, and high living standards. Choosing Australia as your study destination opens doors to a plethora of opportunities for academic and personal growth.

Overview of Student Visa Subclass 500:

The Student Visa Subclass 500 is designed for international students who wish to enrol in a full-time course at a registered Australian educational institution. Whether you're pursuing higher education, vocational training, or English language courses, this visa allows you to make the most of your academic journey Down Under.

Course Eligibility

The student visa is applicable for a wide range of courses, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational programs. Ensure your selected course is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

Financial Requirements

To secure your visa, you must demonstrate your ability to cover living expenses, tuition fees, and other associated costs. Adequate financial planning is crucial for a smooth transition to student life in Australia.

Health Insurance

Health cover is mandatory for all international students. The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provides access to medical services, ensuring your well-being throughout your stay.

English Proficiency

Most courses require a minimum level of English proficiency. You may need to undertake language tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic, depending on the requirements of your chosen institution.

Work Permissions

The Subclass 500 visa allows you to work part-time (up to 40 hours per fortnight) during the academic session and full-time during scheduled breaks. This feature provides an excellent opportunity to gain work experience while studying.

Duration and Renewal

The duration of your visa depends on the length of your course. Once your course is complete, you may be eligible for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) to further extend your stay and gain practical work experience in Australia.
